Unusual Tall Vintage Rustic Pine Ottoman Blanket Chest Storage Box Trunk Coffer

  

Collection from Inwardleigh, nr Okehampton, Devon. This is for a Large Vintage Rustic Pine Ottoman/Blanket Chest. At 3' 6" across, only just over 1' 3" deep and 2' 3 high it is narrower and higher than most pieces of this nature so could be ideal as a blanket chest for the end of the bed or as a great storage piece where space is limited.

Appears to have a good amount of age and is all in Solid Pine with panels, having beading edges, to the front, both sides and the lid. Edging to the base is to the front and one side only as missing from the other side.

Lid opens on 2 substantial metal hinges and lies flat, natural finish internally. Has possibly had a replacement base/back at some point, all of which is solid and sturdy. Marks and knocks from age and use, decorative edging to base missing on one side, etc - See Photos. Sun bleaching over the years has given it a very nice mellow finish, solid and sturdy item, lovely rustic piece. The lid is 109cm x 40.5cm with the actual trunk just under 107cm x 39cm.
