Stunning Camphor Wood Blanket Box Travelling Case Trunk Coffee Table Brass Bound. As can be seen from the pictures, this is an absolutely beautiful camphor blanket box/coffee table. With a rich history, it was originally a travelling case with excellent brass corners and straps.

A beautifully made antique which would have held clothing, safe from insects due to the wonderful smell of the camphor wood which is off putting to insects which may damage clothing. Probably used by a member of the military on mission to India, this is a wonderful and interesting antique. The brass which remains adds lovely decoration and there is a working key.

The grain and patina is wonderful and the box has a beautiful smell due to the wood. The interior has a lovely grain too.

It's a large piece so would be very useful as a blanket box, coffee table or storage box. It measures 97cm x 46cm and 44cm tall. Collection is from Hilderstone, Staffordshire, ST15.
