Attractive Antique Victorian Scumbled Pine Kist Chest Storage Trunk Blanket Box. A lovely antique scumbled Victorian pine kist. We date this kist to the second half of the 19th century. The chest sits on a slightly protruding plinth base.

The kist comprises a large rear hinged lidded box with metal handles on either side of the chest. There is a small storage area at the top left hand side with a candle drawer underneath. The kist has a height of 19.5" (50cm), a width of 30.5" (78cm) and a depth of 19 (49cm).

This lovely pine kist remains in a good usable condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is some wear, indentations and marks from past use to the scumble glaze. This remains a very stylish and functional pine kist which would function well as a toy storage box or a linen chest etc. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
