A fine example, carcassed in robust, English oak with pegged joints, the stiles extending to form the feet. The three plank top displays wonderfully with rich patina. A triple field panel front complimented by double panelled ends, and a carved frieze. The lid lifts on iron strap hinges offering generous storage within. This has a lovely medium oak finish. The coffer has the original finish, particularly the legs have had past repairs as it can be noted from the pictures.

Wooden splits/ missing bits of wood in places and a few old woodworm holes on the lower part, minimal, nothing too obvious. This is absolutely solid and useable. A great piece of English furniture.
